Who ya know.

It’s not what you know, but who you know.  Never more true than at our last show in Waxahachie.

At the Funky Finds show March 8&9 we were approached about a show that would be taking place in Waxahachie, Texas the following weekend.  Vendors from FFs would get a great discount on their booth.  Why not, said we.  The van was still packed so Friday morning we took off North again.  Of course we had to make a pitstop at the Czech Stop in West, Texas. Yummy Apricot, Poppyseed and Coconut cream kolaches.

When I got back out to the car, the battery was dead.  You’ve got to be kidding! A super sweet young couple pulled up and offered assistance.  Zach (who looked like my friend Josh Ward with his bushy beard) and Chelsea to the rescue, yes Chelsea rescued Blue Chelsea.  It was all yes ma’am’s and wouldn’t let me by them a snack. So kind!  Thanks guys wherever you are.

Still dragging a bit from the Funky Finds weekend mom and I did our best to transform Zephi and Haggi into presentable sales ladies at 7am Saturday morning. (It’s a family joke that we pronounce the Bible books Haggai and Zephaniah, Haggy Eye and Zephan Eye, and use it to refer to ourselves when we feel tired or run down).

As far as shows go, this one was a solid “meh”.  Not our worst (Kyle Fair) and definitely not the best (Country Living Austin), but getting to know fellow vendors is always a joy.

This time around we were able to spend quality time with Candace and Pepper with their gorgeous items made from vintage laces and fabrics and Fred and Glo from Cutz; absolutely stunning artwork from cut pieces of wood.

Fred and Pep tried to get things off on the right foot Saturday morning by setting the “vibe” for the day. Sorry boys, your efforts didn’t pay off.

Other new friends: Lisa from The Trendy Triangle, Artist Dana Prickett and her husband and box toter Flip, Blue Chelsea customers and purveyors of barrel-aged balsamics and olive oil, David and Rhonda Skinner of Texas Gourmet Blends, and my new kindred spirit, Depeche Mode loving, Etsy teaching friend, Christy from buckshotinc.

Thanks for making the weekend worth the trip. Hope to see y’all again real soon.

Adorningly Yours!
